Luminous Flow Transforms Taipei’s Urban Skyline

High above the bustling City of Taipei, on the 25th floor of One Park Taipei, a residence designed by Richard Rogers and Kelly Hoppen, Luminous Flow: A Therapeutic Realm takes shape as a balcony installation unlike any other. Created by L’atelier Fantasia, the project goes beyond the idea of an outdoor extension; instead, it turns the space into a personal retreat. The project was conceived as a place where architecture, nature, and light are all combined to offer a sense of balance within Taipei’s dense urban fabric.

Within the heart of the interior design, it gives the impression and influence of a circular fish tank that wraps around the balcony, creating a sense of suspended aquatic sanctuary in the sky. Paring ornamental fish and water plants with a responsive lighting system gives a sense of emotional need with blue tones that invite calmness, green for harmony, and purple for encouraging deeper meditation.

Shifting constantly, inviting quiet reflections, what results is a living environment that reacts and engages with the senses of the inhabitants while offering a rare pause in the flow of everyday life.

Having the addition of ornamentals, the water refracts light and turns still into movements, which makes the balcony come alive. One unique part that makes this interior design project both a visible and discreet aspect is the sustainability. Materials used for this project were selected with eco-conscious standards in mind, a key reminder from L’atelier Fantasia that a thoughtful approach to longevity and environmental responsibility is always prioritized.

Hansgrohe, a German brand recognized for EcoVadis certification, fills the bathroom with premium fittings. This highlights the commitment, combining technical excellence with water efficiency and carbon-aware manufacturing. Each detail, from the use of recyclable materials to the durability of the fixtures, speaks to a larger concept and understanding of responsible living.
