BI WORLDWIDE – 2025 COUNTRY Financial Enrich Conference
September 18, 20251Congratulations on your achievements in the MUSE Creative Awards! Could you start by introducing yourself or your agency? Can you also share a bit about your journey into your current industry?
I’m Jeremy, founder of Chewy Designs™, a graphic design studio focused on logo design and branding. For over 20 years, I’ve helped businesses—from scrappy startups to established companies—build brands that stick. My journey began with a fascination for how a simple mark could shape the way people feel about a business, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
2What inspired you to submit your work for this competition, and what does winning mean to you personally and professionally?
I submitted because I believe strong branding deserves recognition on a global stage. Personally, it’s a milestone—a reminder of why I fell in love with design in the first place. Professionally, it’s validation that my approach to branding—bold, strategic, and a little fearless—resonates not only with clients but with the creative community as well.
3Can you share the story behind your success? What inspired its creation, and what do you feel it represents in today’s industry?
The project began with a simple challenge: create an identity that’s impossible to ignore. It pushes back against “safe” design—bland, forgettable marks that don’t move the needle. Today’s industry needs brands with presence, confidence, and clarity, and that’s exactly what I set out to deliver.
4What do you believe set your project apart in such a competitive field? Were there specific elements or strategies that made it shine?
Simplicity with an edge. I’m not interested in overcomplicating design—my focus is always on distilling the noise into one bold, strategic identity. What makes this project stand out is its commitment to staying sharp and memorable without losing adaptability.
5Every project has its challenges. Can you share a significant obstacle you faced during this process and how you overcame it?
The biggest obstacle was bringing multiple perspectives together into a single, cohesive identity. Everyone has a vision of what a brand “should” be. The solution was to cut through the noise, focus on what mattered most, and use design to tell one clear story.
6Winning an award of this caliber often brings recognition. What do you hope this achievement will mean for your career, your team, or your agency in the long run? Have you already noticed any changes or opportunities arising from this recognition?
I see this award as both recognition and an open door. It’s an opportunity to expand my reach, connect with ambitious brands, and showcase what’s possible when strategy and creativity work hand in hand. The buzz has already sparked new conversations—exactly what I was hoping for.
7What has the reaction been from clients, audiences, or stakeholders about your winning entry? Any feedback or memorable moments that stand out?
The most common reaction has been excitement—clients love being associated with award-winning work because it elevates their brand as well. One memorable moment was when a client said, “This makes us feel like we’ve leveled up.” That’s the kind of feedback that stays with you.
8For those aspiring to achieve similar success, what advice would you offer to help them not only thrive in their industries but also craft compelling, award-worthy entries? Are there specific practices, mindsets, or strategies you believe are key?
Don’t chase trends—chase clarity. Awards don’t come from blending in; they come from saying something new with confidence. My advice: dig deep, refine beyond the obvious, and don’t be afraid to show your edge. Safe design rarely wins.
9The creative industry is constantly evolving. How do you view these changes, and where do you hope to position yourself in the future?
The industry is moving faster than ever, merging design with tech, storytelling, and experience. I see that as an opportunity, not a pressure. My position is simple: keep delivering bold, timeless branding that cuts through the noise—no matter how the industry shifts.
10Entering awards can be daunting for many, especially those just starting out. What would you say to individuals who have limited experience, or are hesitant to showcase their work in competitions? How can they build confidence and see the value in participating?
You don’t need 20 years of experience to put your work out there. Confidence comes from action, not waiting. Submitting to awards isn’t about ego—it’s about visibility. Even if you don’t win, you gain perspective, you grow, and you become braver for the next round.
11Creativity thrives on community. What message would you like to share with fellow creatives, marketers, and advertising professionals?
Keep pushing. The industry doesn’t move forward when we all play it safe—it moves when we take risks, challenge expectations, and bring something new to the table. Respect the craft, trust your instincts, and don’t let fear water down your work.
12Winning is a team effort in many cases. Is there someone or a group of people you’d like to dedicate this achievement to, and why?
This one’s for my clients—the ones who trust me enough to take creative risks together. Great work happens only through collaboration and a shared belief in doing something different.
13If you could describe your award-winning entry in one sentence, what would it be and why?
A bold, stripped-down identity that proves simplicity is the sharpest tool in branding.
14Finally, what’s next for you? Any exciting projects or upcoming goals that you’d like to share with us and the audience?
I’m focused on expanding my studio in Banff and continuing to work with businesses that want branding as fearless as their vision. The goal is simple: keep creating identities that don’t just blend in, but dominate their space.
