1Congratulations on winning in the TITAN Property Awards! Tell us more about your company, studio, or yourself.
Thank you! I am the founder of Ten Art Deco, a design firm established over 15 years ago. My background is in spatial design, and my passion for art, sketching, and aesthetics led me to create this company. In the early years, we primarily focused on residential interior design, but as the company grew, we expanded into large-scale residential planning and self-built housing projects.
More recently, we also established a construction company, allowing us to provide a more comprehensive service that includes public spaces and amenities designed for large-scale construction projects. Our core design philosophy is to maximize space efficiency without waste while integrating art and culture into every corner of a space.
Additionally, we emphasize aesthetics alongside long-term maintenance and cleanliness, ensuring that our designs are both beautiful and practical. Winning the TITAN Property Awards for the public facilities of the Zhongli Puyue construction project is a great affirmation for our team.
2Could you walk us through the concept and unique features of your award-winning project?
The design concept for the award-winning public facilities of the Zhongli Puyue construction project is an "urban oasis." We aim to create a public space where residents can relax and enjoy nature in the midst of a busy urban life.
The unique aspect of this project lies in our integration of abundant greenery into the design, creating a vibrant environment. We also focus on the fluidity and interactivity of the space, allowing residents to freely interact and relax here.
3What do you believe makes this project stand out in the property industry?
I believe the key factor that made this project stand out in the real estate industry is our focus on "people." We not only designed a beautiful space but also considered the practical needs and emotional experiences of the residents. We hope this public space becomes a part of their lives, bringing them a sense of happiness and belonging.
4What's the first thought that crossed your mind when you found out you had won in the award?
When I learned that the public facilities of the Zhongli Puyue construction project had won the Gold Award, my first thought was about the hard work of our team finally being recognized. This award is not only an acknowledgement of our design concept but also the best proof of our team's spirit of cooperation.
5What's the inspiration or story behind your winning entry? Was there a meaningful moment during its creation that you would like to share?
The inspiration for this project came from our observation and reflection on urban life. We found that modern urbanites experience high stress and lack opportunities to connect with nature. Therefore, we wanted to create an "urban oasis" where they could relax and unwind.
A particularly meaningful moment during the creative process was our numerous exchanges with residents to understand their needs and expectations for the public space. Their opinions and suggestions greatly influenced our design.
6What was the most surprising or unexpected element of your entry's journey from concept to completion?
The most surprising and unexpected aspect of this project's conception and completion was our successful integration of abundant greenery into the public space, creating a vibrant environment. We were initially concerned about the maintenance of greenery in an urban setting, but we designed a comprehensive irrigation system that allowed the plants to thrive in this public space.
7Designing properties often requires balancing art and science. How do you harmonize aesthetics with functionality in your work?
We believe that aesthetics and functionality should complement each other. To achieve balance in our projects, we first gain a deep understanding of the residents' needs and lifestyles. We then translate these needs into design elements, while considering the aesthetics and comfort of the space. We also work closely with experts from various fields to ensure that our designs are both beautiful and practical.
8What's the one challenge from this entry that you're most proud of overcoming?
The challenge we are most proud of overcoming in this project was creating a vibrant and green public space within the limited urban space. Due to the geographical location of the Zhongli Puyue construction project, we had to overcome limitations such as space constraints, insufficient sunlight, and plant maintenance. Through careful design, we successfully integrated abundant greenery into the public space, creating a vibrant environment, which makes us very proud.
9How do you think this recognition will impact your career or future projects?
This award recognition is a great encouragement for us. It proves that our persistence in our design philosophy is correct and inspires us to continue challenging ourselves and creating more excellent works in future projects. I believe this award will bring us more cooperation opportunities and allow us to learn from more outstanding designers.
10How do you think your entry contributes to the future of property design and development?
I believe our work inspires and contributes to the future of real estate design and development by emphasizing the importance of "people" in space. We not only design a beautiful space but also consider the practical needs and emotional experiences of residents. We hope our work inspires more designers to pay more attention to the interaction between people and space in future designs, creating more humanized living environments.
11Sustainability is an important topic in today’s world. How do you integrate eco-conscious practices into your projects?
Sustainability is an important issue today. In our projects, we always place sustainability in an important position. In the design of the public facilities of the Zhongli Puyue construction project, we selected environmentally friendly building materials and used abundant greenery to reduce the impact on the environment.
In addition, we also designed a comprehensive irrigation system to conserve water resources. We hope that through our design, we can provide a more sustainable direction for future urban development.
12Are there any upcoming projects or ideas that you’re particularly excited about pursuing?
We are currently planning a mixed-use public space that combines art, culture, and natural elements. We hope to hold various art exhibitions and cultural events in this space and provide a place for residents to interact with nature. We are very excited about the realization of this project, which will bring more diverse public space experiences to urban residents.
13If you could give one piece of advice to aspiring designers or developers entering the field today, what would it be?
My advice to young designers or developers entering the field today would be: maintain a passion for design, be bold in innovation, and always place "people" at the heart of design. At the same time, pay attention to sustainability issues and integrate ecological awareness into design. Most importantly, keep learning and keep pace with the times to stand out in this competitive field.
