Well, it’s happened again folks! The city’s in shambles, the undead roaming all over the place for brains, and plenty of people dead because of it. And as humanity’s last four surviving bastions of hope, it’s time to pick up your weapons, repair tools, and the last of your ammunition and hold out as long as you can and go out in a blaze of glory Zombieland style!
Developed by Hero Zone VR, the makers of several short but fun VR games played by groups of four people in the same room, Dead Ahead is the latest release title in their series of VR arcade games. Taking place in the midwestern suburbs, your zombie holdout is already starting to crumble and zombie attacks are starting to become more frequent. And after a unanimous decision, all four of you decide that if we’re all going down, we’re taking them with us!
Dead Ahead is a short but sweet 10-minute adventure that is best experience with a full party of up to four players playing in the same space as you are. And if you have room for two more, you can have six players in the mix for even more fun and chaos! There are a wide variety of claustrophobic maps to choose from to make it your last zombie holdout, ranging from a bombed church, unfinished construction site, an empty warehouse and more.
There is also a selection of four characters that you can choose to act as your own virtual avatar standing against the undead horde. Will you take on the form of an anarchist with an itch for destruction, a battle-hardened sheriff with a deadeye aim that hasn’t been abandoned, a anime fangirl otaku who has been preparing her whole life for this moment, or a badass Catholic nun who abandoned her faith to take down these unholy wretches? Either one you choose, it’ll make for a weird but awesome team of survivors-turned-hunters of the living dead!
And what’s a zombie game without weapons being involved? You can choose between a single revolver to take accurate shots from a distance or go full on akimbo to double your rate of fire and damage output, or a pump-action shotgun to decimate your targets from up close. Your hammer if your lifeline to keep the durability of your defenses up, but can also serve as a last-resort melee weapon to bonk them!
