Social media is one of the most vital aspects of our daily life now, providing us with ways to communicate with people all over the world and to receive the latest information on the things you care about.
Unfortunately for us, fake news are circulating these sites like no other, and people are actually sharing these false information to the public. To remedy that, The Guardian has come up with their own campaign: FakeHits.
The campaign is curated by the very talented Adeptus Advertising in Nigeria, creating awareness of the dangers in these sites.
It depicts social media logos in tatters due to the fake news circulating the sites, with messages to tell people to stop sharing misleading or manipulative messages.
The visuals are tone down to a bare minimum to evoke the gravity of said fake news, giving it a polished look that will avert the eyes of many as a print ad.
This is quite certainly one of the better thematic campaigns we've seen here, and most definitely an award-winning one as well. Kudos to The Guardian and Adeptus!
