In the heart of Hangzhou, a city pulsating with technological innovation, lies Night of City (NOC), a marvel of contemporary interior design that redefines the nightlife experience by JFR Studio. Encompassing a sprawling 6,300-square-meter area, NOC stands as an example of the power of interdisciplinary collaboration, merging cutting-edge design and construction techniques with artistic flair to craft spaces that resonate with the post-pandemic zeitgeist.
At NOC, the future of entertainment is realized through its 46 uniquely designed private rooms. The designers intended for each room to portray an avant-garde enclave where patrons can enjoy a mix of live DJ sets, karaoke, gaming, dining, and performances, all within a space that prioritizes privacy and safety—a nod to the evolving demands of contemporary socializing.
The conceptual backbone of NOC is inspired by the ethereal notions of astral travel and alternate realities, aiming to transport its visitors to a realm beyond the confines of traditional nightlife. This vision is brought to life through a dynamic interplay of physical and virtual elements, where organic metallic surfaces and kinetic mechanical structures morph and evolve, creating a landscape of perpetual transformation. Specialized lighting and abstract visual animations, projected onto custom high-resolution LED panels, orchestrate a sensory symphony that captivates and exhilarates.
Diversity in design is a hallmark of NOC, with no two rooms mirroring each other. This commitment to uniqueness required extensive research into materials that could realize the ambitious curvilinear geometries envisioned by the designers. The palette includes glass-reinforced gypsum, metallic-finish lacquer paint, raw matte concrete, custom-cut marble flooring, and an array of sophisticated finishes, ensuring that each space offers a distinct tactile and visual experience. The construction process itself was a feat of engineering and design precision, involving detailed 3D modeling, rigorous testing of kinetic components, and meticulous on-site installation.

Since its grand opening in June 2022, NOC has captured the imagination of Hangzhou's stylish denizens, rapidly ascending to the pinnacle of the city's entertainment scene. With monthly revenues exceeding 2 million USD, NOC is a vibrant ecosystem that celebrates the fusion of technology, art, and human connection, setting a new benchmark for the future of nightlife entertainment.
