Today, we delve into the creative process behind the Adidas Triple Black Collection campaign film, a project that masterfully utilized motion graphics to bring a unique vision to life.
Inspired by the Eclipse: Embracing Dark Mode
The creative team at Woodwork Amsterdam, the brains behind the campaign film, drew inspiration from an astronomical phenomenon: the solar eclipse. This celestial event birthed the concept of "Dark Mode Enabled," a theme that would permeate the entire film. Imagine a world where everything, from sceneries to objects, is bathed in an inky blackness, reminiscent of the eclipse's peak. This visual metaphor perfectly captured the essence of the Triple Black collection, a product line defined by its sleek, monochromatic aesthetic.
Building a World in CGI: Freedom and Control
To achieve the desired level of creative freedom and visual mastery, the team opted to build all the shots in the film using CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery). This approach allowed them to meticulously craft each scene, ensuring every detail aligned with their vision. Unlike relying on stock footage, CGI offered complete control over every element, from lighting and textures to camera movements and transitions.
A Symphony of Visuals and Sound
In addition to the captivating visuals, the film engages viewers on multiple sensory levels, creating a truly involving experience. To further elevate the storytelling, the team created custom graphics inspired by classic vinyl designs and the nostalgic charm of 90s user interfaces.
