Under his leadership, Truest is dedicated to crafting high-quality creative work for streaming, film, and beyond\u2014with a team that shares his passion and commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q1. Congratulations on winning the MUSE Design Awards! Can you introduce yourself and share about what inspired you to pursue design as a career?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you. We are honored to be recognized. We are the entertainment advertising agency Truest. My name is Rob Kandefer, and I\u2019m the owner and creative director. It\u2019s been a long journey\u2014I\u2019ve been in this industry since my teen years, starting out by winning scholarship money and awards from Sony and Disney competitions. My team and I are passionate about delivering high-quality creative work for streaming, film, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q2. What does being recognized in the MUSE Design Awards mean to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We all felt this was an impactful and captivating image, beautifully shot and composed, that succinctly conveyed the essence of the show. Our client believed in this image from the initial round and was happy with the final results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were confident it was a great piece to enter into competitions to showcase what we\u2019re all about. Winning like this is one of the many ways we demonstrate our passion and commitment to our work and service to our clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q3. How has this achievement impacted your career, team, or agency, and what opportunities has it brought so far?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several factors aligned to make this campaign impactful. Our client had a decisive vision and did a great job facilitating a phenomenal photoshoot with Robert Ascroft. Our sketch concepts were shot beautifully, providing us with strong imagery to build from. The lead actress is also very striking and photogenic, portraying a complex yet relatable character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were all willing to take a risk by showing a darkly lit, mostly desaturated image that included blood \u2014 all elements somewhat uncommon for a network show ad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q4. What role does experimentation play in your creative process? Can you share an example?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re happy to accept this award. As a small agency, we enter these competitions primarily to honor our clients\u2019 vision and their trust in us, to recognize our team members\u2019 continual efforts, and to gain visibility within our field. It\u2019s really important in this industry to make waves and stay part of the conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q5. What&#8217;s the most unusual source of inspiration you&#8217;ve ever drawn from for a project?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019d say, for younger talent starting out on their journey: always keep honing your craft and develop a healthy relationship with criticism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, observation is a superpower and definitely a game changer. If you\u2019re an art director, don\u2019t silo yourself\u2014observe how the account execs conduct themselves on calls, notice how the retouchers structure their files, watch how your creative director pitches, and spend time with production to see what happens after the files leave your hands. Pay attention to patterns in what clients choose as final art. Go to lunch with someone outside your department and get to know how they work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of this will foster better working relationships, produce stronger work, and open many doors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Winning Entry <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/museaward.com\/winner-info.php?id=233337\" class=\"external\">The Cleaning Lady &#8216;Antihero&#8217;<\/a><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Explore another journey of <a href=\"https:\/\/muse.international\/thomas-betti-on-telling-the-untold-stories-of-pan-am\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Thomas Betti<\/a>, the Platinum Winner of the 2025 MUSE Creative Awards. He\u2019s a historian with 20+ years of passion projects. By day, he works in public communications; he\u2019s also co-authored five books on Columbus, appeared on WOSU TV, and led many history tours for the Columbus Metropolitan
