Victor Zhaowei Wang and Serena Yingchia Liu are award-winning UX designers based in New York City. They are both Senior UX Designers at JPMorganChase, where Victor specializes in designing personalized product recommendations, data visualization and design systems, while Serena leverages her extensive expertise in finance and AI to craft digital experiences that are intuitive and informed by data insights. Together, they co-created Investify.ai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q1. Congratulations on winning the MUSE Design Awards! Can you introduce yourself and share about what inspired you to pursue design as a career?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m a product designer driven by the belief that design is a poetic solution to life\u2019s puzzles. My education taught me methodology, but what truly inspires me is observing daily details\u2014how hands grip cups on subways, how old objects become planters. These moments prove design must weave empathy between people and life. To love life is to design with soul.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Q2. What does being recognized in the MUSE Design Awards mean to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MUSE Design Awards is a global passport for design philosophy. It not only certifies innovation but also affirms that modern interpretations of Eastern aesthetics can transcend cultural barriers. Design is more than objects\u2014it\u2019s a silent dialogue between civilizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q3. How has this achievement impacted your career, team, or agency, and what opportunities has it brought so far?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This achievement enhances the global credibility of our pedagogical innovation and industry-academia integration. For instance, my curriculum framework, centered on the “theory-practice-iteration” methodology, guided student projects such as modular emergency medical cabins published in national innovation reports, validating interdisciplinary approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Works archived in global sustainable design databases accelerated green technology R&D with enterprises, providing empirical pathways for educational reform. By integrating traditional craftsmanship with modern technology\u2014such as material regeneration and digital tools\u2014we addressed community waste challenges and generated patented solutions, aligning with global sustainability trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cultural symbol redesigns and inclusive functionality innovations preserved heritage while fostering social responsibility, empowering students to excel in cross-cultural competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q4. What role does experimentation play in your creative process? Can you share an example?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experimentation drives form innovation through user role simulation and prototype testing. For example, designing a blind-friendly radio involved simulating visual impairment to create a weighted, touch-optimized shape. Similarly, wireless interface trials for SKYWORTH TV led to a detachable base design, which was acclaimed internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q5. What’s the most unusual source of inspiration you’ve ever drawn from for a project?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most unconventional inspiration came from the yin-yang interlocking in ancient Chinese mortise-and-tenon joints. By merging modular geometry with Dehua porcelain, the dual-square structure embodies both philosophical harmony (“unity of heaven and earth”) and functional innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
