Anqi Liu, a visionary designer, was inspired by her study of ECG monitoring systems and flexible electrical sensors. With this project, she aims to create an interactive library that blends motion and fashion, where sportswear and design converge to shape a more sustainable, human-centred future for sports fashion.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q1. Congratulations on your achievements in the French Fashion Awards! Could you share a bit about your awarded design, yourself or your studio?<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m truly excited. Design work can be repetitive and demanding, and this honour has inspired me to keep challenging myself in the field. Thank you to the French Fashion Awards for establishing the Sportswear category\u2014I hope more designers will be encouraged to explore this area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q2. Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your winning design \/ work?<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

I was originally inspired by a study of ECG monitoring systems and flexible electrical sensors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this project, I hope to establish an interactive library of motion representation in fashion\u2014serving as a platform where fashion and professional sportswear can complement one another, emphasising both functionality and design to create more human-centred, sustainable sports fashion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we\u2019re seeing a growing connection between fashion creativity and scientific research, this trend has fuelled the direction of my exploration. I aim to express both the external and internal interactions between the mind and body in a more practical, tangible way. This project also seeks to offer a softer, more healing perspective on functional garments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q3. What were some of the challenges you faced while creating your award-winning submission, and how did you overcome them?<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

The main challenge lies in combining electronic technology with design. To tackle this, I researched academic papers on ECG monitoring technology and electronic fibres, and consulted relevant experts. And then\u2014try, try, try\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q4. How do you think this award will impact your future work and opportunities in the fashion industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I believe it will drive me to be more confident and fuel my ambitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q5. What does this award mean to you personally and professionally?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Personally, it\u2019s an affirmation of my reflections on life over the past period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professionally, it has strengthened my passion for sportswear design\u2014a field where aesthetics and technology come together. I believe it\u2019s rich in humanistic care; from fabrication to pattern cutting to function, every element reflects the designer\u2019s understanding of the body and movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It allows the wearer to feel alive in every inch of skin and muscle, while offering protection that empowers them. It\u2019s always been something that excites me. This award also reinforces my confidence in the future of this path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
