Congratulations on winning the MUSE Design Awards! Can you introduce yourself and share about what inspired you to pursue design as a career?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My name is Zi Zhuo, and I am a higher education\u2013focused architectural designer at NAC Architecture in Seattle, WA, specializing in student housing, mixed-use designs, and housing master plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, I worked at Ayers Saint Gross in Washington, D.C. I hold a bachelor\u2019s degree in architecture from Chongqing University and a master\u2019s degree in architecture from the University of Virginia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q2. What does being recognized in the MUSE Design Awards mean to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Winning this award is an incredible honor. It validates our hard work and serves as a source of pride for me, inspiring me to continue pushing boundaries in design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q3. How has this achievement impacted your career, team, or agency, and what opportunities has it brought so far?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This award is a milestone that enhances my portfolio and credibility in the industry. It motivates me to pursue even more innovative projects in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q4. What role does experimentation play in your creative process? Can you share an example?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sci-fi Gallery New York reimagines a ventilation tower in Manhattan as a sci-fi\u2013inspired garden and gallery. Its novel concept and captivating spatial forms made it a strong contender in the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I created many space sketches before ultimately settling on a design based on three spherical shapes. It was impossible to materialize this space using only my imagination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q5. What&#8217;s the most unusual source of inspiration you&#8217;ve ever drawn from for a project?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The secret base in Men in Black and the motif of surveillance cameras\u2014common in science fiction films\u2014served as the foundational inspiration for the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/design.museaward.com\/winner-info.php?id=28038\" class=\"external\">Sci-fi Gallery New York<\/a><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/design.museaward.com\/winner-info.php?id=28039\" class=\"external\">PRISM<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Explore the journey of <a href=\"https:\/\/muse.international\/neo%c2%b7genesis-by-jie-chen-fashion-as-a-canvas-for-storytelling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jie Chen<\/a>, the Gold Winner of the 2025 MUSE Design Awards.
