I\u2019m a technology leader<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m the founder and CEO of TerraCycle, an international leader in recycling hard-to-recycle waste streams, recycled content, and reuse. We operate in 21 countries, collaborating with some of the world\u2019s largest brands, retailers, and manufacturers to create national platforms that recycle products and packaging that would otherwise end up in landfills or incineration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also developed a new circular reuse platform, Loop, which allows consumers to purchase products in reusable packaging. At TerraCycle, we\u2019ve been fortunate to receive hundreds of awards and recognitions from organizations like the United Nations, the World Economic Forum, Fortune Magazine, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve written four books: Revolution in a Bottle, Outsmart Waste, Make Garbage Great, and The Future of Packaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TerraCycle is the most innovative waste management company in the world. We develop ways to collect and recycle hard-to-recycle waste streams that are not typically accepted by traditional municipal recycling services\u2014including cigarette butts, toys, mascara wands, and much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether something is municipally recyclable depends on whether your local recycling company can profit from recycling it. If the cost of collecting and processing the waste is lower than the value of the resulting raw material, it\u2019s likely to be locally recyclable. If the cost is higher, it likely won\u2019t be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TerraCycle can recycle the hard-to-recycle because we work with brands, retailers, and other stakeholders who fund the recycling process. Our free recycling programs are sponsored by brands, allowing you to recycle their products and packaging at no cost. It\u2019s a way for them to take voluntary responsibility for the externalities of waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
