Elektra B. Yao, Esq. is the founder and principal attorney of Yao Law Group, dedicated to supporting artists worldwide. She has represented record labels, modeling agencies, and production companies. As founder and chief motivator, she champions artists with expertise and passion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q1. Please provide us with a brief of yourself.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am Elektra B. Yao, Esq., the founder and principal attorney at Yao Law Group, a law firm dedicated to international and domestic artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I earned my Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Communication Arts from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC, one of the top art schools in the nation. During my undergraduate university career, I wrote, directed, and produced two documentaries (N*gga What? and The Choking Game), which were screened in Texas and New York City. During college, I worked for MTV, the Style Network, and other distinguished production companies in the film and TV industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a very active attorney and a member of The American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association, and The New York City Bar Association, where I am a member of several committees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a multicultural attorney with immigrant parents from Italy and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, I am fully fluent in French, Italian, and Spanish. I have lived, studied, and worked internationally in the U.S., the EU, and Africa. Not only do I understand the language my clients speak, but I also understand the cultural and artistic landscapes they come from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have successfully represented record labels, modeling agencies, production companies, individual artists, and creatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
