Wentao Zhong is a talented designer specializing in landscape, urban, and visual design at W Studio, a collective celebrated for its diverse expertise in architecture, landscape design, urban planning, and UI\/UX innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q1. Please give us a brief bio of yourself and your background.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anqi Wang<\/strong>: I hold a Bachelor of Architecture degree from SCI-Arc and currently serve as an Architectural Job Captain at a renowned firm based in Santa Ana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruijing Sun<\/strong>: I am Ruijing Sun, a graduate of Columbia University with a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design. Currently, I am working as an architectural designer at OLI Architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yue Liang<\/strong>: I am Yue Liang, a 2022 graduate of the University of Southern California with a Master of Architecture degree. I am currently a Design Professional 1 at ODP Architects, where I contribute to innovative and impactful architectural projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hao Zhou<\/strong>: I hold a Master of Architecture degree from Syracuse University and am currently working at a modular design architecture firm specializing in the “Design, Manufacture, Construction (DMC)” approach. My role allows me to contribute to cutting-edge, integrated solutions in the architectural field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q2. What made you become\/why did you choose to become a product designer?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I became a product designer because of my passion for problem-solving and enhancing people\u2019s interactions with technology. Creating intuitive, user-focused designs that positively impact lives is deeply rewarding for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love the combination of creativity and functionality in design, and transforming complex challenges into simple, user-friendly solutions keeps me motivated every day. The potential of well-crafted products to significantly improve user experiences fuels my excitement for this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q3, Tell us more about your business \/ company \/ job profile and what you do.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, design is primarily about addressing problems in a natural and intuitive way. It\u2019s not merely about aesthetics; it\u2019s about crafting experiences that enhance people’s lives. Whether simplifying a complex process or incorporating a small detail that adds delight, design involves understanding the user\u2019s perspective and finding the most effective way to fulfill their needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q4. What does design mean to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m passionate about designing user interfaces, particularly for intricate systems. It\u2019s immensely satisfying to transform something that might seem overwhelming into a clear and intuitive experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It feels like solving a puzzle\u2014finding ways to make a tool or system not only functional but also enjoyable to use. Additionally, witnessing the positive impact of a well-designed interface on someone\u2019s daily work is incredibly rewarding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q5. What’s your favorite kind of design and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, a “good” design is one that feels seamless and unobtrusive. It\u2019s intuitive and addresses the user’s needs without requiring much effort from them. Effective design simplifies complexity, blending functionality with aesthetics, accessibility, and user feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It creates an experience that is both practical and pleasant, ensuring inclusivity. When a design operates effortlessly and leaves a positive, lasting impression, that\u2019s when I recognize its quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
