Chuxiong Feng is a licensed landscape architect and LEED Green Associate based in Boston, United States. Since graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Feng has been practicing both domestically and internationally, dedicated to making cities more inclusive and sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q1. Please give us a brief bio of yourself and your design background.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am Zerong Yang, a multidisciplinary designer at the intersection of design, engineering, and business. With a Master\u2019s in Industrial Design, a Bachelor\u2019s in Mechanical Engineering, and a Certificate in Technology Entrepreneurship, I specialize in crafting innovative, functional, and commercially viable products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My approach blends design creativity with engineering precision and business insight to transform ideas into impactful solutions. I am dedicated to leading the integration of these disciplines to create products that not only meet user needs but also drive business success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q2. What made you become\/why did you choose to become a designer\/artist?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


My interest in design began in childhood with dreams of becoming an inventor, driven by a penchant for taking things apart and reassembling them, combined with a love for math, physics, and solving problems. These interests guided me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soon after, I recognized the significance of ergonomics and user-focused design in making meaningful products, which led me to further explore the field of design to enhance my engineering background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q3. Tell us more about your business\/company, job profile, and what you do.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I founded Clink Design Inc., a startup focused on improving the lives of pets and their owners with inventive product design. In my role, I lead our product development and business strategy, staying aligned with our core mission: “Linking pets and owners through innovative design \u2013 Clinking to a stronger bond.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q4. What does \u201cdesign\u201d mean to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To me, design is fundamentally about solving problems. It involves devising solutions that tackle real-world issues in a practical and elegant manner. More than just aesthetics, design is a meticulous process that entails grasping the nature of a problem, investigating various solutions, and developing a product that not only resolves the issue but also enhances the user experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q5<\/strong>. What’s your favorite kind of design and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I value design that seamlessly blends aesthetics with functionality to solve problems effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
