Q1. Please give us a brief bio of yourself and your design background.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am Yan Chen, a distinguished architectural designer and accomplished artist with international acclaim. My portfolio reflects my exceptional skills and achievements, and I am honored to be part of Baoneng Group, a prominent real estate firm based in Shenzhen, China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We deliver high-quality architecture, interior design, programming, master planning, and technical management services to a diverse clientele. Prior to my tenure at Baoneng Group, I gained invaluable experience at globally recognized firms like Wanda Group and OCT Group. My educational background includes an MBA from Anglia Ruskin University in the UK and a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Architecture from Chongqing University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q2. What made you become\/why did you choose to become a designer\/artist?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have traveled to over 30 countries to immerse myself in the world’s diverse cultures and explore various architectural styles. The designs I’ve encountered foster environments where people enjoy spending time, engaging in conversations, and deepening their understanding of each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These unique structures not only reflect cultural styles but also help break down psychological barriers among different ethnicities. Experiencing grand bazaars and distinctive architectural complexes has shown me how architecture can serve as a cultural intermediary, creating spaces that resonate deeply and symbolize a city’s character. I am profoundly inspired by the potential of architecture and aspire to one day design such impactful spaces. This realization ignited my passion to pursue a career in architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q3. Tell us more about your business\/company, job profile, and what you do.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I serve as the Vice President of Dongguan Hengtai Technology Group. Previously, I held a position as a level nine executive at Wanda Group and worked as the design director at OCT Regional Company. My company specializes in the development and construction of cultural tourism projects, and I am in charge of architectural creative design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q4. What does \u201cdesign\u201d mean to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Protecting the environment and preserving natural ecology has always been a significant challenge. China has achieved considerable success in safeguarding its natural resources and promoting sustainable development for the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My work involves exploring local culture and historical heritage while researching ways to protect the ecosystem and conserve energy. This environmentally friendly approach has also yielded economic benefits for the local inhabitants. To maintain our green mountains and clear waters, the concept of “sustainability” was introduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q5<\/strong>. What’s your favorite kind of design and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am particularly drawn to architectural designs that serve as cultural conduits, blending heritage preservation with modern adaptation, and crafting spaces that engage users on an emotional and expressive level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am captivated by the vibrant balance of various cultures coexisting and thriving together, and I aim to delve deeper into this aspect within the design process. I hold the view that architectures which sensitively and insightfully cater to the emotional needs of users while preserving cultural heritage are vital in contemporary society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
