Interview With The 2023 New York Photography Awards Winner<\/strong> \u2013 Anouk van Tetering<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q1. Can you introduce yourself and talk about how you got into photography?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My work is fueled by a deep curiosity for the unseen and a desire to appreciate overlooked aspects of everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a world consumed by fast-paced social media, I find magic in taking a moment to pause and truly see. I believe that everything has its own unique beauty, often hidden from our eyes. Zooming in and exploring the details, a whole new world unfolds before us. As my art evolves, the work will always maintain a distinct and recognizable style, capturing the essence of my inspiration. In 2024, I will be introducing a new series inspired by the vibrant colors of nature and the hidden beauty of the natural world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q2. Where did you study photography?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q3. Do you remember your first shot? What was it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My first shot was made with a homemade pinhole camera. It was a close up of my foot in a ballet pose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q4. What equipment do you use?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Nikon D850 with a Nikon AF-S 105 mm lens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q5. What do you hope to achieve? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would like to be represented by the Opera gallery or another gallery with many franchise galleries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
