Gao Long is an aspiring designer that has studiously learned art from a young age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q1. Please give us a brief bio of yourself and your design background.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am Gao Long, a designer from Shanghai, China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I grew up with a passion for art and received four years of art education at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, China, and this period of studying art had a profound impact on me and my desire to become an artist. After graduation, I joined a local theatre company to work as a stage designer, which was my first job as a choreographer. I designed sets, props, and decorations there. Four years later I went to Shanghai, the largest commercial centre in China, to study stage art and design at the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Next, I worked at the School of Art and Design of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, where I taught interior space design and product design and practiced some of my own artistic and design ideas, and thus achieved some very good reactions. After twelve years of service, I decided to leave the school and focus on my own interior design company of furnishing and upholstery business until now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q2. What made you become\/why did you choose to become a designer\/artist?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specifically, I cover a wide range of subjects, and my experience helps me grow. I have good control over space, form, and colour. My experience as a stage designer has further helped and improved my ability to use colour, lighting, and scene setting, which has always influenced my design and decoration. I will be deeply involved in caring about the life of ordinary people, hoping to improve their quality of life through design, creating warm, unique, and attractive space for our customers, and creating dream homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q3. Tell us more about your business\/company, job profile, and what you do.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I founded Yicai Design Company, which specializes in interior space design and soft decoration design, and product support services, such as model houses, sales offices, clubhouses, and private high-end residential customization services for real estate developers. We do not only provide high standard and low-cost designs for common customers, but also provide personalized customization services for high-end customers, and it is our ideal to create elegant, comfortable, and quality living space. Through years of hard work and insistence on high-quality design, we have achieved excellent results. Our design projects have won many domestic and international design awards and are well-received by our clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q4. What does \u201cdesign\u201d mean to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am passionate about design and art, and design has become a part of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q5. What\u2019s your favorite kind of design and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The essence of design should be problem-solving, and I believe we should design for the needs of our clients, rather than follow trends and fads. I like to create spaces that reflect our client’s personalities, start from the essence of life, restore design to life, and use it to guide our clients to match their lifestyles and life concepts. Let the home truly become the space of one’s dreams, rather than satisfy the fantasy of the designer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q6. To you, what makes a \u201cgood\u201d design?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because we believe that every project is unique, a good design should be put in the customer’s shoes and contribute to the overall customer experience. It serves its purpose and enhances the experience. Always provide incredible solutions to problems in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
