To raise awareness of the southern white rhinos\u2019 plight, cricket player Quinton de Kock makes an appearance to showcase 300 rhinos in Rockwood Conservation!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, there is an estimated number of 19,600-21,00 southern white rhinoceros still roaming around in the plains of Africa. All of them residing in protected areas and private game reserves all over the country. It may not seem like a huge number, but their population continues to prosper with each passing year. Promoted from \u201cVulnerable\u201d to \u201cNear Threatened\u201d classification, just one level away from \u201cLeast Concern\u201d. And that\u2019s great news!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the battle may be over for now. The war in preserving these majestic creatures continues to rage on against the poachers. Illegally hunting rhinos for their horns. And it is up to organizations like Rockwood Conservation to take these mammals under their protection under any means possible. To do that, they need funds obtained from the public to keep their operations afloat. Thankfully, Rockwood Conservation and Magnetic Creative know the only way how: Celebrity endorsement!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reaching out to South African cricket extraordinaire as a mouthpiece and ambassador for South Africa\u2019s largest rhino conservatory. Magnetic Creative has produced a fundraiser video ad spot that shines a serious light to the plight of the southern white rhino. While also keeping a lighthearted tone of a privileged cricket player trying his hand in protecting these endangered species!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video starts with Quinton de Kock, going through several takes and attempts to say his lines in the fundraiser\u2019s opening statement. Finally getting it right on the third attempt. But unlike other celebrities who only do these ad spots to promote their fundraisers. Quinton is immediately put into several jobs and assignments undertaken by the staff of Rockwood Conservation. Which includes, but not limited to: Being chased by rhinos, taking care of rhinos, driving around the plains in an ATV, riding around the plains on horseback, firearms training, and sitting in an outpost and surveying the area for threats the entire night. All of which is completely foreign for an individual who hits balls as a career, especially in his first day on the job!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
