Jump into a brand-new world of the Lands Between and experience FromSoftware\u2019s best souls game yet!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Introduction<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

934 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is the average amount of time that I have spent playing between all three Dark Souls<\/em> games, Bloodborne<\/em>, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, <\/em>and the Demon\u2019s Souls<\/em> remaster on the PS5. But despite the toxic relationship we have of putting me through an endless loop of pain, tears, and repetition. This subgenre of open-world RPGs still remains as one of my favorites till this very day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the years, souls games such as Dark Souls<\/em> have made a name for themselves for being some of the most vague and unforgiving games to start playing. This notoriety in gaming also coined the term, \u2018The Dark Souls of-\u2019<\/em> . In reference to the absurd difficulty level that new players will have to overcome. All just to start enjoying the rest of the game properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like many a souls fan, I was a passenger of the hype train when the first trailers for Elden Ring<\/em>. Released in the olden days of\u2026 2019. And even after two more years of waiting with no news of the game and two whole E3 conventions. Not showcasing anything from FromSoftware, we still remained in anticipation for the next souls title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And when the story and gameplay trailers came out in the middle of 2021. Souls fans around the world rejoiced for an update from the developers from FromSoftware and Bandai Namco. Giving us an update that the game is very close to completion and to be released in the following year afterwards. Leaving little breadcrumbs of content to dampen our hunger for the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fast forward to the end of February and we all got our hands, mine included, on the game. Installing it on our consoles and taking a day off work to play it. It was nothing short of the greatest masterpiece ever made by FromSoftware in conjunction with Bandai Namco. Even having the writer of the Game of Thrones<\/em> novels, George R. R. Martin, and Hidetaka Miyazaki (no, not that Miyazaki!) of Dark Souls 3<\/em> fame being involved in building a deep, complex, and immersive world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t usually give away my final thoughts at the very beginning of the article, but Elden Ring<\/em> is by far, the best souls game with a great setting, story, enemy designs, combat, and sound track. Bar. None.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
