Once a dominant force against nature that strikes fear to the hearts of Axis and Allied soldiers. Bomber planes of World War II are now relics of the past. Now either used for military parades, preserved in war history museums, or just rotting away in junkyards for salvage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To give these flying machinations with so much history and contributions to The Great War the respect they deserve, the National Aviation Education Center (NAEC) has teamed up with Groove Jones to create an app to utilize the power of AR to explore the history of these great winged beasts in a way that has never been done before!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NAEC Nose Art Gallery is a Smithsonian-certified collection of authentic World War II Aviation Nose Art. Found in the forward position or noses of the aircraft fuselages where the art of pin-up girls would usually be found on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With an AR-compatible smart phone, visitors who have downloaded the app can view the artwork digitally. And view the very same plane that it was originally painted on and viewed by walking around it physically. In addition, you have access to the very manifesto of missions where it was also involved in. Complete with their very own soundtrack and effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to that, each and every plane of the collection also have their very own story narrated in a podcast-style by none other than Major Attaway. Whom most youngsters would immediately recognize to be the very voice behind Genie in Disney\u2019s Aladdin on Broadway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other intriguing pieces of information that you can also read and learn more about is also an archive of other unique and iconic nose art on planes of all makes and models. From those in service during the war, to the more saddening visuals of the planes being scrapped for parts post-WWII.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
