Interview With The 2022 LIT Talent Awards Winner \u2013 Shumile Exotic Dimensions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please provide us with a brief bio of yourself and your background.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born in Japan and based in the U.S., I started to learn piano at the age of 5 and by the age of 8, I had already started to compose. I learned classical piano performance and composition in Japan and graduated from the Berklee College of Music majoring in Film Scoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After graduating from Berklee, I began working for recording studios as a composer, arranger and programmer. In addition, I began learning the processes and techniques of how to make CDs. Eventually these experiences led me to create Exotic Dimensions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exotic Dimensions is the musical project that assimilates different kinds of music, such as electric, classical, pop and world music, beyond usual genres and styles, not just imitating traditional music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What led you to become a talent\/artist\/influencer\/performer\/current profession?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since I was little, I was interested in traditional cultures, other countries and music. All those inspirations became my project “Exotic Dimensions”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tell us more about your studio\/company\/academy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m doing my project that is called “Exotic Dimensions”. I combine pop\/folk music, classical\/film score music and traditional music from around the world. The songs are accessible, emotional, mysterious, grand and exotic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What skills have you learned that will help you in your result and\/or performance?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, I learned piano performance with teachers and self-taught composition since I was little. And I learned theories of compositions and technology at school and learned how to do the recordings at work place. I’m continuing analyze classical, film scoring, world music and new software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your own definition of an impressive performance\/show\/masterpiece?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To have an attractive melody lines and counter lines, impressive arrangement and work with great performers and engineers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
