Fresh Wood captures the essence of its dishes, embodying a continuation of culture and human connection. The space of this restaurant serves not only the cuisine but also the patrons, with its design reflecting a unique culinary aesthetic and philosophy of life. The designer has masterfully integrated ingredients with the temperament of the space, engaging all five senses—taste, smell, vision, hearing, and touch. This approach eschews mediocrity and standardized formats, using spatial design to convey respect for nature and cultural heritage.
Upon entering Fresh Wood, one is greeted by a jungle-like ambiance. The use of materials such as stone, wood, and green plants creates natural textures and tactile experiences, evoking an emotional response. The wooden door wall seamlessly blends natural and artificial textures, with uneven surfaces symbolising the memories and traces left by the passage of time. The tent serves as a prototype for the design, incorporating simple lines, rattan weaving, and antique grille screens. The overall space is dominated by a dark, atmospheric style, with a strategic use of light and shadow.
The lighting design employs point, line, and surface techniques to focus the primary illumination, while secondary lights highlight walls, furniture, and other details. This interplay of light creates a dining atmosphere with varying shades and densities, enhancing the overall experience. The spiritual therapy of food is complemented by the charm of the space, where the designer breathes new life into the culinary experience through interactive emotional engagement.
The relationship between the space and the food is vibrant yet natural and elegant, fostering a unique connection with the patrons. The jungle encounter theme, with its harmonious blend of natural elements and thoughtful design, offers a touchable and memorable dining experience.
