1Congratulations on winning in the MUSE Photography Awards! Can you share a little about yourself, what inspired you to pursue photography, and how has your journey evolved since your first shot?
I’ve always wanted to pursue photography. I began actively practicing about 10 years ago. Over the years, I’ve gone through several stages of development to get to where I am today. Now, I truly enjoy photography and try to connect each captured moment with a real story.
2Can you share the story or inspiration behind your award-winning piece? How does winning this award make you feel about your journey in photography?
This photograph was created for another photography competition. The challenge was to capture the evening or night lights of a city. For me, this photo is more than just a contest entry. When I saw the scene before me, I knew I had to capture it as best I could—to create an image for my portfolio that I’d want to return to and pause over every time I see it.
3How do you decide which photo to submit for a competition?
I chose this photo because it is an image I truly like and one I keep coming back to. Every time I look at it, I pause for a few seconds and reflect on what I see.
4What first made you pick up a camera?
I wanted to capture the present moment and keep it for the future.
5What’s your favorite type of photography, and why do you love it?
I love street and documentary photography because it captures moments that will never happen again. It allows me to catch real emotions and the unique atmosphere of each scene.
6What’s your go-to camera setup, and why does it work best for your projects? What’s your favorite feature?
I prefer shooting in full manual mode because I like having maximum control over every aspect of the scene.
7If someone looked at your work, what’s the one thing you’d want them to feel?
I want to evoke emotions through my work.
8What was the most challenging part of capturing your winning shot?
The most challenging part of capturing my winning shot was the limited time. I had only a few seconds to set up my camera before the courier arrived.
9Is there a specific place or subject that inspires you the most?
The most challenging part of capturing my winning shot was time. I had only a few seconds to set up my camera because the courier was coming.
10Who or what has been your biggest influence in photography?
I push myself to grow and improve with every photo I take.
11What message would you share to inspire photographers to participate in photography awards, and what advice would you give to help them excel in the competition?
Don’t be afraid to share your photos; just do it. What matters is the feedback and the jury’s opinion, as they will help you see your photos in a new light.
12What’s one piece of advice for someone just starting in photography?
Be original, trust your vision, and don’t be afraid to show the world how you see it.
13What role do editing and post-processing play in your creative workflow?
I try to use minimal editing. I’m only willing to spend a few moments on post-processing for each picture.
14How do you see technology, like AI, influencing the future of photography and your own approach?
I think photography and AI are completely different things—just like photography and painting.
