Hideaway in London’s Heart
Step through the hidden entrance under GAIA Mayfair and enter NYX, a lounge dedicated to the Greek goddess of the night. Immersed in moody tones of deep blues, reds, and emeralds, the space features luxurious velvet armchairs and plush banquettes that encourage conversation as music and mood shift with the evening.
Light is carefully orchestrated here; hidden fittings allow alabaster, moon-inspired lamps and resin skirting to shimmer subtly, supported by mirrored walls that reflect an illusion of a vivid night sky. The bar, featuring abstracted feather motifs and rich textiles, forms the atmospheric heart of the space, offering visual texture and focal tension.
Every detail invites intimacy. The rounded bar glows, its alabaster accents and resin skirting echo a lunar pulse. Feather-patterned wall cladding and lush fabrics pay homage to NYX’s mythological origin, grounding the design in narrative symbolism. Acoustics and lighting work in tandem, transforming the lounge from a relaxed retreat into a lively, dynamic venue as music intensifies.
NYX is an exercise in balance between luxury and warmth, mystery and comfort, stillness and energy. The velvet seating encourages lingering, conversation, and connection, while hidden lighting sources ensure the space retains its mystique. It’s a setting where design is intentional and immersive rather than ornamental.
Not every story needs to be told out loud. NYX’s interiors speak through the weight of silence, light that lingers, and details that draw you in without needing explanation. These quiet details are where design stops being just practical and starts becoming something you feel.
The 2025 London Design Awards named NYX Mayfair as the Design of the Year in the Interior Design – Restaurants & Bars category, commending its layered approach to storytelling and its ability to transform mood into material expression, offering a refuge in one of London's most prestigious neighbourhoods.
